Description:
Kullu is the capital town of the district located on the banks of Beas river. Kullu valley is between the Manali and Largi and is made by the Beas river. It is also called as “Valley of Gods”, so it’s known for the temples in the region. The hills are covered with the deodar and pine forest. Kullu lies between the lower and great Himalayan ranges and Pir Panjal.
The Kullu valley has its reference in the Mahabharata, Ramayana and the Puranas. The average height of town is 1,278 m (4,193 ft). The valley has rarest animals like western tragopan, Himalayan tahr, monal, and Himalayan brown bear.

Transportation:
The distance between the Kullu valley and Bhuntar airport is 10 km. the region isn’t easily accessible by the rails. The nearest railway station is Kiratpur Sahib and Una and the distance from Kullu is 200 km for both the stations. The distance to narrow gauge railhead is 100 km that is Joginder Nagar. The destination is also approachable by road from Chandigarh and Delhi. The distances are 260 km and 512 km respectively. Public transportation is too available.
