Una is the main transit town for the travelers and identified as an important industrial hub. The district is located in foothills of Himalayas. The region remains cool in winter and hot in summer. The famous destination is the Chintpurni temple, one of the “Shakti Peeth”. The area is surrounded by Pines and Devdar trees and covered with forest. Various types of animals are found here like birds, Nilgai, Leopard, deer, porcupine and Wild Pig.
The public services through roads are regularly provided by HRTC. The trains are also available directly for the district and the station is Una itself. The regular flights are available for Gaggal airport, Dharamshala which is 84 km away. The nearest airport is Ludhiana and distance is 77 km.
